Rectangular
If you have an equal shape balance between your shoulder and hip then you have a rectangular body shape. Rectangular shaped women such as Cameron Diaz, Nicole Kidman and Hillary Duff  should be your style reference.
When picking out outfits, your main goal should be to create a defined waistline. Dark colored wide belts or cinching shape wear works well. Add dimension to you frame to create what you do not have, by wearing ruffled or flowery tops to create the illusion of a fuller bustline.

Figure hugging, attractive tops draws attention towards the upper half of your body. Also try balancing our your body shape by creating the illusion of a broader shoulder, puffed sleeves tops or jackets, cropped jackets, boat necks and ruffled neck tops.  To de-emphasize your curves choose bottoms with flowing fabric, A line skirts which aren’t too tight works well too.

Inverted triangle
This is the opposite of the pear; broad shoulders and smaller hips. Women with this body shape look more athletic. Demi Moore, Renee Zellweger, and Naomi Campbell have this kind of body shape. The main goal when dressing is to create a balance between your top and bottom; since the bottom appears smaller, aim to draw attention to this part of the body. Add volume and width around your hips and downwards with belts or flared / wide legged pants. Long tops or dresses which are nipped at the waist line are very flattering.
